Each morning is a blessing to see John Mounger wake up get dressed and walk to the breakfast table. But each day the pain is greater and we are not able to communicate with him. He is sleeping most of the day and when awake he is in pain. He told me today that he was ready to see Jesus that he was tired of the pain.
We have a retreat going on at this time and every cabin is occupied what a blessing. Robin our daughter her husband and three kids are moving here to Prayer Lake to help, John is very pleased about that. Plans are being made and things are being taken care. It’s just this emotion thing that I have to deal with. I teach people about the different stages of griefing. Now I must go through them.
All of this does not change my stand on the Word of God because I believe that Jesus still heals the same yesterday, today and forever. John Mounger is healed today in Jesus name.

Doctors say John is a walking miracle. Every breath is grace from God. We believe every moment for a breakthrough. Late last night we walked outside and stood watching the lighting in the distance. We made our request known to God. We ask that God would rescue John from the jaws of cancer in Jesus name. We are in prayer—praise—worship—-warfare and that starts the day. We put on the whole armor of God and we are standing therefore believing that by His strips we were healed. After John goes to sleep at night I continue quietly reading the Word of God into him. We stand on the Promises of God.
He suffers greatly with bone pain in his hip and left leg. John’s word association has been hindered by the tumors in the brain making it very difficult to communicate.
But he gets up every day with a smile and hope –even if I have to assist him in getting dressed.
The Dr. said this past Monday with as much mastasit cancer in his body he looks remarkable, his skin color is good and his eyes sparkle. But the Dr. said people don’t live with this level cancer. Oh well, that’s my John and we Praise God.
He wants me with him every moment so I just lay beside him and hold his hand. When he is awake he tells me he loves me. This is a new place for us. We have helped so many people who have gone through times like this. I hear myself say “now what would you tell some else that’s going through this” and I try to take my on advise.�
We did go to Birmingham and it was a hard trip for John. But we got him there. He got to see people we have not seen in years. Every one prayed for him. And my cousin Chris Hodges’s church is really something to see. We got to see our kinfolks. We traveled by an RV that a friend of our daughters let us borrow– what a gift! John could lie down or stand up when he needed.�
I want to tell all of you that have shown John & I such great kindness. From visits—meals—prayer—sitting in John’s bedroom and singing Praise & Worship—mowing—weed eating—painting our living room—making benches –bring out the trash cans (6 large ones)—cleaning cabins—answering phones—bringing fiancés—sending e-mails—cards—letters—working in the flower beds—watering plants—sitting with us……………..
People have come from the North—South—East—and West to show us love—We Thank You - my words are not enough. Please continue to pray for us — we are in much need of your intercession!! Even today, I steped off of a tractor (to keep John from getting on it) and the tendion behind my right knee popped and I am in a lot of pain and it is very hard for me to help John. I have also come down with a very bad cold/sinus thing that is throwing me for a loop. I know we are under attack and I am asking for your prayer support like never before. Stand With Us and cover Prayer Lake and all those here, we need God’s strength, protection, GRACE and healing!!

Update:
In the past three days John’s condition has changed. His ability to say what he is thinking is getting harder and harder. He knows what he wants to say but it doesn’t come out. There are some of you that call him from time to time well now you will get to talk to me. He has trouble remembering names. No matter what happens or how bad it gets John wants you to know that he cares for you thinks about you and would to write you a little note and encourage you if he could. It’s just that I will be sending and writing the notes now. I know God is in total control of this whole thing. I don’t worry or doubt just sad at times.
There are moments I feel like I’m free falling and the chute just has not opened YET.
Those around me are praying for me (binding the spirit of fear) that I don’t think I have. I look at the man I love and serve and honor struggling with talking or thinking. We have he pain under control so he doesn’t suffer.
So many of you came in a week ago and the visits were so good. timing was great.
Keep us in prayer as we travel to Birmingham John feels he must go there because there are people he must talk to.
What a trip this cancer thing no fun at all.

John wanted everyone to know how much he appreciates the prayer, calls, visits, e-mails, help. we have over 300 cards, letters, e-mails, hand drawn pictures, and much needed money. We had three people to show up to cut grass this week, Two men came and stacked firewood all day long. Medical bill are being paid down and Alpha Foundation is growing with seed money. John’s pain is bad. He comes in rest a while then back to his jobs. I try to help out by driving tractors or just hooking them up (that’s a big deal). John said tonight he just needs a man to help out. While getting off his tractor tonight he step down on his stool and fell to the ground. It looks like he hurt his head and arm. We will go to the Doctor tomorrow. The pain was real bad tonight. We are both praying for a quick recover and divine healing. Our faith is built up and we know that John will be healed. We have plans for a trip to Birmingham April 13 we will travel by Amtrak and have a room with a bed for John to lay down. My cousin Chris Hodges is having a conference at his new church and John really wanted to go. Our children paid for our train ride. We will stay close to the Church so when John gets tired he can lay down.
I had a friend that came by this afternoon and said her prayer group prays for John first and in church everyone joined in for prayers for John. we know John is well covered in prayer. John said he will go down to the Cypress Cabin and seek God tomorrow. Please be in prayer tomorrow to cover him. He said he needs a word from God.

Update on John Mounger.

We had a really bad week. But John pulled through and today he has been up since 4:30am praising God and writing thank you notes. He said that this cancer thing is only an obstacle on his journey to fulfill his destiny, and he finds this a privilege to take every step by faith in our Lord Jesus. We hold on to a promise from God that John will complete his purpose. God spoke to John in 1986 that he would supply the needs to a 1000 missionaries. In the past year John has started a Foundation called “Alpha”. John knows this will come to pass. A team of men are working on the process of forming the departments and how the foundation will run. John has many close relationships with missionaries and understands many of their needs.

We have one Dentist that has offered to work on Missionaries and their immediate families at no cost, turning there only day off into mission work. We are looking for many more Medical Profesionals that would give to missionaries.

God can use everybody in Alpha Foundation. We encourage you to get evolved however you can with what ever you have God will truly bless it. We will need people answering the phone, answering e-mails, writing letters, answering letters, or financially supporting— there is lots to do. John says if you help one missionary that is touching hundreds of lives, that in turn touch more lives in a country you may not ever get to go to, you have done your part. That is what Alpha Foundation is all about.

So many of you have responded to my request of cards and letters. I have several hundred stacked on a table in the office. John is overwhelmed at the Love. We have heard from people we know, people we have not heard from in years and people we don’t know. One school teacher (we do not know) had all her students draw a picture what encouragement. In lots of the letters people have sent money some for John and many others for Alpha Foundation. The Doctors have informed us that the prostate cancer is in the bone. The pain seems to be in the hip area.The past two days the pain level has gone up. You would think in that kind of pain John is in bed. He may lay down for a while then he is up and getting jobs done. John is assured in his spirit man that God will see to it that he finishes his purpose. John knows that supplying needs to missionaries all over the world is his purpose. He has started Alpha Foundation we have people working on all the details. With the money coming in for Alpha much is being done. In one card a lady wrote said she knows this is God and wanted to be a part of it. A scripture John loves is Isaiah 52:7 “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news. Who proclaims peace. Who brings glad tidings of good things, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion….Your God reigns.” John has said he was not called to the mission field but was called to supply the needs to those who were. One lady wrote a note to John stating that she didn’t have much money but what she could send ($5.00) was her gift. She went on to say if everyone would send a little then missionaries would never have a need. How true. A great big thank you to all who have come to visit John just to sit and talk for a while. Thanks for the workers there has been so many of you there is no way to list everything. We praise God for the tremendous financial gifts coming in. John get so emotional over the Love from so many. Please pass this on to all.Keep the cards and letters and art work coming you just don’t know how that helps.So many of you have sent scripture thank you. This is the day the Lord has made we will rejoice and be glad in it—-All Day.

I was up early this morning watching the birds. We put out bird seed and birds come all kinds red ones, black ones, yellow ones, small ones, large ones. What a sight to behold. We have praise music playing and just thinking on the goodness of God—–His mercy for us is overwhelming. We put our total trust in the Lord Jesus Christ today.

John Mounger is going forward in what God has said to him.

God spoke to John in 1986 that he would supply the needs to 1000 missionaries. One month ago John started Alpha Foundation. People from all over the world have heard about this and are sending money to help. To see the outpouring of love from people we know and people we have never meet yet—– is wonderful.

John has such a great attitude and is such an encouragement to everyone he sees and meets. People are coming just to sit with John and spend time with him.

Alpha Foundation will supply needs to people that are serving God all over the world. John is so excited about this —you have no idea.

For years John carried the word God gave him. John started with one missionary then two then more. Now Alpha Foundation will take it to 1000. It’s all about being faithful with little.

We have served in ministry for 20 years. We look forward to serving people everyday.

We have never questioned our place in ministry– we know– that we know– what we are called to do.

God spoke to us to start Prayer Lake a place where people could set aside quite time just to be alone with God.

All alone the way, in us it was totally impossible to build cabins, furnish them, take care of them. God would say to us just trust Me and have faith. For years now we have put our trust and total faith in Him.

Now a new season of faith– and a new level of trust. During this next season of total faith in God we must just step out—without question—and believe.

The Doctors can do no more for John. The report is cancer is all over his body and is in his bones.

The pain in John’s body has gone to another level. We stand and believe the Word of God—

Today we meet with Hospice —That seems so finial—BUT GOD—

So once again we take a deep breath and move forward to another level of faith —IN GOD.

The cards and letters that are coming in are so encouraging to John. Thank you—Thank you —Thank you—

Please keep the cards coming—send the e-mails to all your list– come see him and visit—- John loves that.

I’m believing for 1000 cards for the needs of 1000 missionaries.

Thank you so much for all the wonderful cards and letters you have no idea how it makes John feel. He opened cards yesterday and just cried. John is a caretaker in ever since of the word and always thinks of others so when people tell him what he has done for them and how it has impacted there lives it overwhelms him. Please Keep the Cards coming. We are still believing for John’s total healing— he said he still has so much to do for the Kingdom of God. Pray with us and lift us up.John is dealing with great bone pain. We come against it with the Blood of Jesus. We have a large retreat coming this weekend John is steady getting ready for them to come. He looks forward to serving people. Thanks Joy

As many of you know John Mounger has had Prostate Cancer since Dec. 2000- since then cancer has spread. John had a Radical Prostatectomy in 02. His PSA has climbed to 1700. In April 07 the tumors spread to the Lumbar cord. In September 07 Cancer spread to the Orbit of the left eye. He has had treatment but the cancer has not responded.
Doctors say now the cancer is in the bone and is what is causing the pain. No treatment is recommended at this time.

Stand with us in prayer we serve a Big GOD. John is not giving up. He is more excited about life and serving God and doing what God has told him to do than ever before. He can no longer drive a car and has trouble walking or standing any length of time I even have to help him up on his tractor. ——–BUT this does not stop him from working every day. John is a project man and he has several projects going at the same time. I try to slow him down but I find myself helping him complete some of these projects. John’s motto is lend a hand, or get out of his way.

Since 1995 we have been Pastors of Prayer Lake Ministry. This is a retreat center in Lettsworth, Louisiana. We have ministered to people who come for years.
�
John believes that God spoke to him in 1986 that he would supply the needs to a 1000 missionaries. He has held that vision up to the Lord for years. Since April 2007 John decided to start a Foundation that would complete what he heard God say.
�
John started the Alpha Foundation. We are working on the details of how the Foundation will work. John has a Board of Directors and has found favor in every area. As we tell people about Alpha they want to be a part of what God said so money is coming in for the Foundation.
Please pray for John to complete his purpose in God.

I had this idea. What about each of you sending John a letter or card. How about 1000 of you sending a card or letter. He doesn’t like e-mail John likes reg mail.
Let’s all get behind John’s vision by encouraging him to finish his race. I think that would be nice.
